Thank you! Great piece. I remember when the Dems moved to the right. It was like what are we doing?? Center is so far to the right now, compared to the pre Watergate era.

Right on target. I've been saying for years that Dems are way too far up in their heads and your piece reinforces that belief. Dem leadership right now is still pretty wonky, wobbly too. It's time to reach out across the great divide and listen so that we can learn to speak the language of The People.

Perceptively put. I would be interested if others in comment section could provide constructive plans and how to implement them.

OR. Perhaps those Philadelphia Harris renegades ( see NY Times on the failed campaign) could promote 3 likely options ( using the Harris TEXT site) to assess where the voters would like 1 billion dollars of the financial war chest to be spent : ie on the health care,

business development , Constitutional law, and

“other.”

Then repeat for choosing a specific intervention the voters support as a “ real world” suggestion for societal change

I respectfully disagree. Let’s not give Al Gore credit for the downfall of civilization. That honor goes to those who put Trump in the hot seat once again.

Self-examination, yes. Self-flagellation, no. And while we armchair politicos are venting, let’s not knock the dental profession, an essential aspect of health care. Some of my best friends are dentists!
